

We started out much the same as you probably are now, trying to find
a way to build an attractive, quality home at an affordable price.
Experienced with other facets of building, we looked into Manufactured
Homes and were instantly hooked by the workmanship, high standards,
many options, and quick building time. We visited a "down the hill" dealer,
toured some models, and started talking to the salespeople.
As the process continued we grew frustrated by the lack of knowledge of what would be required in Big Bear, the pressure to fill out financing information and the lack of follow-though to our pricing and construction inquiries. Good folks, we decided, just not who we wanted to entrust the building of our home to.
Though a bit discouraged, we were determined
to find a way to make Manufactured Homes a reality here in Big Bear. We
are detail oriented people, and decided we needed to have a more active
role in the process. We researched and executed the stringent requirements
which include mandatory education courses, state licensing examinations
and investigations. Once licensed,
Karen & Tim Lavrouhin along with longtime friend, Jim Maurer established
Mountain Ridge Homes, LLC and went about the process of seeking quality
manufacturers
to represent.We
are proud to offer Skyline, Cavco Durango, Fleetwood, Redman,
and
Hallmark homes.We use only contractors for site preparation, foundation,
transportation and setting with years of experience and the best reputations.
It Was a Logical choice for us to offer Manufactured

We started in real estate by fixing up run down
cabins,and have since purchased and developed land, built and sold homes,
and helped
friends
do the same. We consider ourselves "backyard" developers, and
have experience with the many confusing details of building up here.
It's a small community, and very often it's not what you know or how
much money you have, but how good
a relationship you have with the local
contractors and county officials. New things come up all
the time, and
we are grateful for the wonderful people and resources available to us.
The reality
is that what we do is still construction.
Each site presents its own specific challenges. What distinguishes
us from our competitors is our Big Bear location and our commitment
and ability to resolve the issues quickly and completely...It's who we

We are a small business, and as
such we have several large advantages over our "down the hill" competition.

have pushy salespeople asking if they can "pre-qualify" you before

start looking at models. We don't have the overhead that most
sales centers do, making it easy for us to be price competitive.

by word of mouth in Big Bear, so we're much more interested in building
great homes and relationships than pushing products and padding our pockets. We
